Young children are changing and developing quickly, especially from birth through age three. That’s why well-check exams (Examen de Pasos Sanos) by pediatricians at Vecino’s Airline Children & Women’s Health Center are an important way to give your child the gift of health.
Wellness checkups include immunizations and tests. They’re covered by Medicaid and most private insurance. That means there is no charge to you in most cases!
Schedule checkups for your children at these ages:
- newborn (before 5 days old)
- 2 weeks
- 2 months
- 4 months
- 6 months
- 9 months
- 12 months
- 15 months
- 18 months
- 2 years (24 months)
- 2-1/2 years (30 months)
- 3 years
- 4 years
- 5 years
- Older children: once a year.
What happens at a well-check exam?
Each checkup is different for your child’s specific age and includes all the medical screenings, vaccinations (shots) and laboratory tests recommended by the American Academy of Pediatrics. Every checkup includes a head-to-toe examination of your child. You can talk to your doctor about your child’s development, learning and social behaviors.
